Winterlude glitters with Food & Fashion

Get ready to kick off the beginning of Winterlude on Friday, February 1st at the Ottawa Convention Centre with a special event presented by American Express.  A Whirlwind of Taste & Style is an evening of delicious dining & fantastic fashion by Canadian stars –  chef Marc Lépine, owner of Atelier Restaurant and designer Lucian Matis.

Your taste buds will be tantalized with a unique menu created by Ottawa’s renown award winning chef Marc Lépine, owner of Atelier Restaurant  who impressed the industry with his 2012 Canadian Culinary Championships win.  Marc has created this five-course menu to tantalize your taste buds!

The Catwalk
Togarashi-dusted tuna with nitro-smashed pomelo, gelled and raw beets, toasted hazelnut maltoclump, and atomized lemon

Shards
Berkshirepork belly cooked 36 hours sous-vide with root vegetable glass shards and shaved Perigord truffles

Yellow Snow
Coconut granite with golden pineapple syrup

Blackout
Black trumpet mushroom crusted beef striploin with black garlic mayo, puffed wild rice, and vegetable coals

Winter solstice
White chocolate ganache rocks with tonka bean marshmallow and microwaved sponge cake, dehydrated lychee meringue crumbs, and menthol cotton candy

Already in his 10 year career, Lucian has received impressive industry awards including: The Fur Council of Canada Award (2002), Le Chateau’s Menswear Competition (2002), Peoples Choice Award for Best Sketch (2002), Semi-finalist for the International Young Designer Competition (2002) and Alfred Sung Award for great design talent (2003).
