2016 Unoaked Chardonnay, Old Vines

SPECIAL! (reg $39) $29.50
Niagara-on-the-Lake

The Lenko family planted these vines on the Beamsville Bench in 1959, making them some of the oldest Chardonnay vines in North America.

Savvy Sommelier Tasting Notes: The low yield fruit has produced intense flavours of apricot, steely minerals, and green apple, with medium acidity to pull it all together. Lovely!

2016 Sauvignon Blanc

$20.00
Prince Edward County

A lot of wineries claim to make New Zealand-style Sauvignon Blanc, but here’s one that deserves the title. Winemaker Mike Traynor studied winemaking in NZ, and brought back the lessons he learned: don’t over-ripen, don’t expose to air, and embrace the grapes’ own flavours. It works!

Savvy Sommelier Tasting Notes: This is classic Sauv Blanc: beautiful canned green beans and lemon leveraged with County minerality. There’s lots of lime acidity and a long lemon-lime finish.

Suggested Food Pairing: Deliciously well-chilled on a hot day.
