This Rosé was made with grapes harvested in fall of 2021, yet our Savvy Sommeliers were impressed that the fruit and flavours are still vibrant in this wine.
Small batch crafted with almost equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay grapes makes this a one-of-a-kind wine.
Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris offers the acidity plus the red fruit (cherry perhaps?) flavour while the Chardonnay brings in a peach (or maybe it’s nectarine) that makes for a truly scrumptious glass of wine.
Winemakers Notes:The Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris that make up the majority of this wine display the ‘Pinot’ family of aromas and flavours with cherry-like red-fruit characteristics. The skin contact time is quite brief, lasting only several hours after destemming the grapes and allowing for the extraction of the colours, aromas and flavours that reside mainly in or near the skin of the grape berries. It is an important step that needs monitoring and decision-making by the winemaker to achieve the pale but definite pink shade and the desired outcomes. Chardonnay from our own vineyards was also blended in as a boost to the peach/nectarine character of the wine, bringing just a bit more acidity – think of it as an accent note bringing a sprightliness and a bit more complexity
