A delightful wonderful partnership formed when our friend Shep Ysselstein – owner & cheesemaker at Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese – met Yana & Tatiana who recently moved to Canada from the Ukraine. These hard working moms are now crafting their traditional recipe of Ukrainian Varenyky – similiar to Polish perogies – filled with the classic potato & cheese filling using Gunn’s Hill signature 5 Brothers cheese.
Whether you prefer to boil or fry them, here are Yana & Tatiana cooking instructions: Boil for 4 – 6 minutes OR in a fry pan with lots of butter & onions cook ’til browned.
Enjoy them as a snack or meal with sour cream, bacon…or even more onions!
