The Strewn Winery Chardonnay Musqué 2023 celebrates Niagara’s ability to produce expressive, aromatic white wines that rival those from Europe’s best cool-climate regions. “Musqué” translates from French as musky or perfumed—a fitting description for this clone of Chardonnay known for its natural fragrance and exotic flavour profile.
Sourced from a trusted grower less than one kilometre from Lake Ontario, the grapes benefitted from the lake’s moderating influence. Warm days allowed for full flavour maturity, while cool nights preserved freshness and acidity. Winemaker Marc Bradshaw halted fermentation early to retain a touch of residual sweetness and bottled the wine under screwcap to preserve its vibrant fruit and aromatic purity.
