Big and bold sums up this wine. The intensity of the aromas and flavours are in part by the process. The grapes have been dried to allow the water in the grapes to naturally evaporate turning the grapes into raisin-like fruit then goes through the classic Italian winemaking process called Appasimento.
Pour a glass and you’ll immediately enjoy aromas of dark red cherry, followed by darker fruits: blackberry, black cherry and dark plum. These aromas continue into the taste adding in hints of chocolate, vanilla and nutmeg.Â

Winemaker Tanya Mitchell certainly knows what she is doing! She has been impressing our Sommeliers with Sprucewood Shore wines for many years. We were delighted to have this new wine showcased at Corks & Forks Wine Festival.
This wine is produced by hand selecting the finest fruit, then slow drying the grapes over a 2 to 3 month period to further ripen and concentrate the grapes. The result is a red wine of mind blowing depth, body and complexity!
