Marynissen Estates, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, stands as one of Ontario’s most storied wineries. Founded by John Marynissen, a true pioneer of Canadian viticulture, the estate made history by planting Canada’s first commercial Cabernet Sauvignon vines in 1978.
The Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 marks the final harvest from those original vines—a milestone vintage that honours over four decades of dedication and craftsmanship. Each bottle reflects Niagara’s ability to grow world-class Cabernet Sauvignon in a cool climate, balancing ripe fruit with natural freshness and savoury complexity.
The 2023 season delivered optimal ripening conditions, producing fruit with deep colour and concentration. Careful oak aging added structure and spice while maintaining finesse. The result is a Cabernet that’s rich yet graceful—age-worthy, but beautifully drinkable now.
