Lakeview Wine Co., located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, is a hidden gem now earning well-deserved recognition for crafting expressive, cool-climate wines. Their 2020 Barrel-Aged Chardonnay showcases both precision and patience.
All grapes were sourced from premium Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyards, known for producing fruit with depth and character. After a slow, cool fermentation, the wine spent 13 months in 100 % French oak barrels, undergoing full malolactic fermentation. This gentle process softened the acidity and created a creamy texture without overwhelming the fruit.
The 2020 vintage brought warmth and steady ripening, yielding grapes with richness and intensity. Winemaker attention to detail has produced a Chardonnay that blends New World fruit with Old World elegance. Our Sommeliers were so impressed by this wine, we selected to feature it in our Savvy Wicked Wines of-the-month club.
