Karlo Estate’s is nestled along the northern shores of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County, where the cooler site and lake breezes assist in keeping the grapes vibrant with fresh fruit characteristics.
Karlo’s popular Patio Reserve Rosé is made from 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% dry Gewurztraminer and was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks maintaining all the fruit and freshness that we nurtured by the winemaker throughout the summer. After ferments, the wines rested on lees for two months before racking. Prior to filtering and bottling, A pink Cabernet Franc was fermented without skin contact then blended with dry Gewurztraminer to lift the fruit and round out the mouth feel and create the pretty colour in the bottle today.
