Gold Medal Winner! This red wine has brilliant notes of black cherry, raspberry, vanilla and chocolate with a hint of pepper. The ripe fruit notes follow through to the palate, complemented by the underlying notes of spice and herbs, while remaining fresh, rich and well-balanced. It is dry medium to full in body wine, with delightful acidity, with a smooth finish.

Incredibly versatile to pair with a variety of food. It would pair perfectly with pork tenderloin, braised beef stew, lasagna, pizza or pasta with a tomato-based sauce, and BBQ meats like burgers and sausages. Sourced from four different vineyards in Niagara (in four different sub-appellations), the grapes were all harvested late in the growing season. After macerating on their skins for an extended period, the wines were drained into barrel, where they aged for 14 months. After aging on lees (winespeak for in contact with the yeast), the wines were assembled and bottled without fining or filtration. You might find some sediment in the bottom of the bottle – this is natural!
