Ev’s Eclectics Pear-vençal (Perry Rosé)


This is a cool creation by winemaker and cidermaker Mitchell Everett McCurdy.

He loves creating small batches of different flavoured Perry which is is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented pear juice, similiar to how craft cider is made from fermented apple juice.

In this Perry, ‘Ev’ uses Niagara pears blended with Syrah grapes in stainless steel to extract colour and texture.

Crack open the stubby bottle to find a neat summertime drink that is fruity on the nose with cherry, rhubarb, and watermelon with a zesty, juicy taste of lemon-lime flavours and a touch of acidity on a refreshing finish.

Made by our friend Mitchell Everett McCurdy whose nickname is ‘Ev’. He is the head winemaker at Marynissen Estates Winery.  His side-hussle is making small batch craft cider as part of the Beverage Collab group that operates out of Marynissen’s cellar.

This allows winemakers & cidermakers to virtually create their craft using the equipment of an established winery. This virtual model is growing in popularity and offers makers like Ev to focus on creating perry ciders in limited quantities.
