What is EPIC? It’s the cool acronym for Essex Pelee Island Coast (E.P.I.C.).
Located on the southern most tip of Ontario along the shores of Lake Erie, it is Canada’s hottest wine region. In fact, this area is as far south on the map as Northern California and Tuscany in Italy.
There are a dozen wineries here…some even have beaches. Lots with top-notch restaurants and all of these wineries are winning medals at impressive wine competitions. The area is a winemaker’s paradise blessed with exceptional soil conditions and climate that offers longer sun hours and heat units than any other wine region in Canada.
