This white wine that is a French classic – blending Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties. In fact, Sémillon grapes are rare in Niagara due to the difficulty to grow this variety. It is both winter sensitive and thin skinned, so it thrives only on a few select vineyard sites.
Sémillon from the Lizak Vineyard located next to Lake Ontario is blended with Sauvignon Blanc from a few kilometers away from Hughes Vineyard.
