Entirely grown and made on the Creekside estate, this is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc with smidgen of Malbec and Petit Syrah to fill out the palate. It was aged for 12 months in French oak. The winemaker recommends opening it an hour before drinking to let it breathe.
Savvy Sommelier Tasting Notes: There’s lots going on here! Aromas of dark fruit, steak spice, leather, and cedar are matched on the palate, too. But there’s more – tobacco and mint begin to show up with subsequent sips. Loads of chewy tannins and medium sour cherry acidity make it a complex, full bodied wine. You won’t be disappointed!
Suggested Food Pairing: A big wine deserves big flavours. We recommend braised short ribs or a rack of lamb to complement the wine.
Cellaring: Ready to drink now, it could be aged up to 5 years.
