The Backyard Block vineyard gets its name honestly – it’s directly behind Creekside’s winery. This single-vineyard wine is made entirely on the estate.
Savvy Sommelier Tasting Notes: Described by the winemaker as “New Zealand-style”, you’ll certainly find notes of canned green vegetables and grass here. But there’s a distinctive floral note, too, and good steely minerality. The citrusy acidity is mouth watering, and the finish tart and fruity.
Suggested Food Pairing: Pair this with anything that goes well with a squeeze of lemon – whitefish or raw oysters would be perfect.
